CHRONIC NECK PAIN AND WAD – A PRACTICAL APPROACH
This full-day seminar will further develop your skills in managing complex neck pain patients and whiplash-associated disorders (WAD). We will draw on knowledge from research and applied anatomy and convert it to clinical expertise in the assessment and management of these enigmatic conditions.
Particular emphasis is given to the clinical reasoning behind decision-making for diagnosis and management using case studies and a practical ‘hands on’ approach. We will explore the articular, muscular and neural tissue components which underpin these conditions, and enhance your ability to identify and treat the primary drivers of your patient’s ongoing pain and disability.
Aims
· To further develop clinical reasoning in the assessment and treatment of complex neck pain disorders
· To advance skills in hypothesis development and diagnosis through interview techniques and precise manual assessment
· To advance skills in treatment techniques of the articular, muscular, neural, and sensorimotor systems in the cervical spine
· To synthesize the latest research into outcomes for patients via clinical expertise in manual therapy and precise exercise prescription
